Brad Lewis, Superintendent
Philosophy Of Administration
I believe the role of the administrator is that of leader, learner, facilitator and communicator.

I believe the greatest leader is one who mentors the protégée and models the desired behavior or outcome for others to observe and follow. Effective school leaders are community servants who build relationships with others through respect and courtesy while maintaining high expectations of staff and students.

I believe a true leader is a lover of learning, for the learner is one who embraces change and inherits the future while the learned find themselves prepared for a world that no longer exists. Through constant focus on continual improvement the educational leader equips himself and others with the knowledge and skills for the next great challenge.

I believe the educational leader should serve as a facilitator for change, growth, community development. A solid working relationship between the members of the governance team is paramount to the success of the district. An open and honest relationship with the superintendent and other administrative staff will serve to keep all persons well informed and to maintain a standard operating procedure of “no surprises.”

I believe the key to building successful relationships with faculty, students and the community rests with the ability to communicate. Establishing a common vision through participatory practices, and continually communicating the vision to all stakeholders is imperative for the success of the district. This allows the leader to establish relational trust with all stakeholders, which is paramount in addressing student needs. Honest and straightforward communication will greatly facilitate the district’s focus on accountability and student success. Finally, quality administrators listen to others and value the ideas and opinions of staff, community, parents, and board members, providing the knowledge base to draw upon at times when the leader must make the difficult decisions alone.
